Description

This course brings together the object-oriented technologies that students have studied to create as a team a working system.

Objectives

  • The students create a working implementation of a specification. They produce use cases, perform analysis, create a design, implement that design, and maintain the implementation.
  • To bring together concepts and skills in OO and C++ or Java.
  • To experience working together as a team in the specification, design and implementation of a project.

Project

The project is a client/server application. The specifications are alterable depending on the experience of the students. The course project can be customized for a specific application area. The course runs for five days. A three-day short course with a simplified project.is also available.

Prerequisites

  • Knowledge of basic C++ or Java
  • Knowledge of basic OO analysis and design techniques

Facilitator

The facilitator is Kenneth Pugh, a 30 year veteran in the computer field. He has taught thousands of programmers new languages, operating systems, and techniques. He takes on many roles as facilitator - client, end-user, design consultant, and instructor.
